Poteen Classic Cocktails
Knockeen Hills Irish Poteen ® is an ideal cocktail base and can be simply substituted for bacardi, gin, tequila, vodka or whiskey in any cocktail recipe.
Leigh Miller, pictured below won the 1996 TGI Fridays World Bartending Champion and was twice the World Flair Bartending Champion. Together with other renowned specialist bartenders,he opened the now well known very successful cocktail bar, BeAtOne in London.
He used the 90% ABV (180 US Proof) quadruple-distilled, Gold Extra-Strength Poteen to create the following classic Knockeen Hills cocktails range.
After 12
- Poteen 1 1/4oz. (90% ABV),
- 3/4oz. peppermint,
- 3 chocolate cookies,
- 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream,
- 1/2 scoop crushed ice.
- Serve in tall wine glass and blend well.
Irish Nut
- Poteen 1oz (90% ABV),
- 1/2oz. Frangelico,
- 1/2oz. Tia Maria,
- 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream,
- 1/2 scoop crushed ice.
- Serve in tall wine glass and blend well.
Irish Orange Margarita
- Poteen 1oz (90% ABV),
- 1/4oz. Grand Marnier,
- 1/4oz. Cointreau,
- 1/2oz. fresh orange,
- 1/4t.s.p. sugar,
- 1/2 egg white (or use sweet and sour mix).
- Serve in chilled cocktail glass,
- top up with Champagne,
- sugar rim and orange twist.
Irish Platinum Margarita
- Poteen 1oz (90% ABV),
- 1/4oz. Grand Marnier,
- 1/4oz. Cointreau,
- 1/2oz. fresh lime,
- 1/2oz. fresh lemon,
- 1/4t.s.p. sugar, egg white (or use sweet and sour mix).
- Serve in chilled cocktail glass,
- top up with Champagne,
- salt rim and lime twist.
Irish Tart
- Poteen 1 1/4oz. (90% ABV),
- 2oz. fresh strawberries,
- 1oz. chocolate sauce,
- 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream,
- 1/2 scoop crushed ice.
- Serve in tall wine glass and blend well.
